PM Modi to visit Bihar & West Bengal July 18; Unveil key projects worth over Rs 12,200 Cr

Prime Minister will also flag off four new Amrit Bharat trains connecting various cities.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Bihar and West Bengal July 18 to launch and dedicate various development projects worth over Rs 12,200 crore.

In Bihar, he will start at Motihari around 11:30 AM, followed by a visit to Durgapur, West Bengal, at around 3 PM. His visit will include addressing the public and participating in numerous initiatives.

In Bihar, the Prime Minister will oversee projects focused on sectors such as Rail, Road, Rural Development, Fisheries, and Information Technology. He will dedicate several railway projects, including automatic signaling to improve train operations and the doubling of key rail lines to increase capacity and reduce delays. Significant investments will also go into enhancing road infrastructure, including the four-laning of critical highways, which will streamline travel and boost connectivity in the region.

The inauguration of new Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) facilities in Darbhanga and Patna aims to foster growth in the IT sector. These facilities are designed to boost software exports and support innovations in technology. Additionally, the Prime Minister will launch fisheries development projects aimed at modernizing the aquaculture sector to create job opportunities and improve fish production in Bihar.

In a strong move to enhance regional connectivity, the Prime Minister will also flag off four new Amrit Bharat trains connecting various cities. Furthermore, he will distribute Rs 400 crore to around 61,500 Self-Help Groups to promote women’s development initiatives and housing support under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana.

In West Bengal, the Prime Minister will focus on development projects in the Oil and Gas, Power, and Road sectors. He will lay the foundation for a City Gas Distribution project worth Rs 1,950 crore in Bankura and Purulia, which will deliver natural gas to households and create job opportunities. The inauguration of a significant natural gas pipeline segment aims to improve energy access for many households.
