Nagpur-Pune Vande Bharat Express covering 881 kilometers becomes India longest’s route
The new Ajni-Pune train will mark Maharashtra's 12th Vande Bharat, and it will serve the previously unconnected area between Wardha and Manmad.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday flagged off three Vande Bharat trains from KSR Bengaluru Railway Station including Ajni (Nagpur)-Pune Vande Bharat Express train.
With the inaugural run, Indian Railways (IR) rolled out another Vande Bharat Express train for Maharashtra.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the Vande Bharat Express between Nagpur and Pune from Nagpur railway station.
The new Ajni-Pune train will mark Maharashtra’s 12th Vande Bharat, and it will serve the previously unconnected area between Wardha and Manmad.
The Ajni-Pune Vande Bharat Express will be the longest of its kind, covering 881 kilometers, overtaking the previous record held by the New Delhi–Varanasi route.
It will be the fastest train on this route, traveling at a speed of 73 km/h.
During its journey between Ajni and Pune, this Vande Bharat train will stop at 10 stations. These are: Wardha, Badnera, Akola, Shegaon, Bhusaval, Jalgaon, Manmad, Kopargaon, Ahmednagar and Daund Chord Line.
It will be the fastest train on the route followed by Pune Humsafar and Azad Hind Express.
The train’s introduction reflects India’s advancements in modern rail travel, emphasizing the Railways’ commitment to providing services across the country.
The Pune-Ajni Vande Bharat Express will operate five days a week, departing from Pune at 6:25 AM and arriving in Ajni at 6:25 PM. The return service will leave Ajni at 9:50 AM and reach Pune at 9:50 PM, with halts at several stations including Wardha and Manmad. The train will have eight coaches, including one Executive Chair Car and seven Chair Cars, accommodating a total of 530 passengers.

Additionally, Prime Minister Modi also flagged off the KSR Bengaluru-Belagavi and Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Katra-Amritsar Vande Bharat trains during the event.
Vande Bharat trains offer several amenities for passenger comfort, including air-conditioning, temperature control, ergonomically designed seating, and large panoramic windows. They also come equipped with safety features like fire detection systems, CCTV surveillance, and intercom systems for emergency communication. The innovative design includes a regenerative braking system that conserves energy and a dual suspension system for a smoother ride.
Nagpur, known for its development, is home to many industries, educational institutions, and healthcare facilities. It has significant historical and religious sites, including Deekshabhumi, a major pilgrimage site for Buddhists, and Ramtek, associated with Lord Ram. Pune, recognized for its cultural significance, hosts many educational institutions and historical landmarks, including forts linked to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and the famous Dagdu Sheth temple.
The introduction of these Vande Bharat trains will greatly benefit daily commuters and promote tourism and business between these two cities
