Naveen Goyal Kicks Off His Campaign Inspired by Khatu Shyam Devotee Tradition, Begins Nomination with Enthusiastic March

Independent candidate Naveen Goyal’s nomination from the Gurugram assembly constituency has sent shockwaves through both the BJP and Congress.

The former BJP State Convenor for the Trade Cell, Goyal, started his nomination process with a grand rally at the Jail Complex Ground, preceded by a powerful foot march through Gurugram markets, officially launching his independent campaign.

After being denied a ticket by the BJP, Goyal, who has built his reputation through 11 years of dedicated service and public work, has positioned himself as a formidable candidate, securing blessings from the revered Sheetla Mata, Gurugram’s presiding deity, and spiritual leader Dharmdev Ji. He also received enthusiastic support from the Brahmin community, marking the rally’s start with their symbolic endorsement.

Speaking at the rally, Goyal emphasized his long-term vision for Gurugram: “My goal is to make Gurugram Assembly the number one constituency in the country, both in terms of education and employment. We aim to elevate Gurugram to the top in cleanliness, much like Indore.”

The rally was attended by numerous former BJP councilors and prominent Punjabi community leaders, alongside heads from 36 fraternities, all pledging their support for Goyal.

Undeterred by his independent status, Goyal remains focused on his vision: “Even without a party symbol, if the people of Gurugram elect me with a strong mandate, it will not matter which party forms the government.”

Goyal’s bold entry into the race has made the Gurugram contest a high-stakes triangular battle.

The BJP has fielded Mukesh Sharma from the Brahmin community, while the Congress has nominated Mohit Grover from the Punjabi community. Goyal, hailing from the Vaishya community, stands as the sole independent candidate. With former MLA Umesh Aggarwal stepping aside, Goyal has emerged as a key contender, particularly resonating with voters at the grassroots level.

This strong show of support has raised concerns within both the BJP and Congress, indicating that Goyal’s influence may disrupt traditional voting patterns in Gurugram. His popularity and the rally’s success highlight his strong foothold in the community, signaling a potential upset in the 2024 elections.
